Halloween 2008

What a difference a year makes. Last year Cade was not quite sure about the whole trick-or-treating thing, Brynlee was just a couple weeks old and Austin still decided to somewhat "dress up". This year Austin decided he was too old to go with us, Cade just loved getting all the candy (plus he said thank you every time) and Brynlee was actually aware of things going on around her.

Just like last year, Tim and I took the kids down to the pumpkin patch. Cade was dressed as a doctor and Brynlee as a nurse. They both looked so cute dressed up. Austin missed out on getting in the pictures since he stayed with Nana and didn't come with us.

Here's some pictures from the pumpkin patch.

Just to compare from last Halloween, here's a picture from then.

Brynlee...a year later

I know it has been a very long time since I have posted anything, but I am hoping to keep up with this a little better. I figured this would be a good place to start.
**********************************************************

I can't believe its been one year since Brynlee was born. Time just flies, doesn't it? She has changed so much and becomes more fun each passing day.

We had her birthday party on October 4th and it turned out great! Thank you to everyone who came and celebrated Brynlee's first year with us. The party theme was cupcakes so, you know me, I had to do as much as I could do relating to cupcakes. Here are some pictures from the party.

Those pops that you see in the flower pots are the cutest thing. They are called cupcake pops and are so good. It was something I found online and decided it would go great with the cupcake theme.

As with most one-year-olds, Brynlee had no idea what to do with the pinata or the candy.
Brynlee sure did like the cake. Maybe all that sugar wasn't the best thing - see below.
Apparently Brynlee had too much sugar at her party(j/k). She had fallen asleep after her party and slept for about 1 1/2 hours. She woke up about 9 and this picture was taken around 10:30 - still wide awake and smiling. We did successfully get her back to sleep not too long after this. I can say that I'm glad this doesn't happen on a nightly basis.
I can't end this without posting a few pictures of Brynlee throughout her first year. Like I said, she has changed so much and I can't wait to see how much more she changes in the coming months.

Valentine's Day

Is it just me or what? Why is it that when I want to get a good picture of my dear children it just never happens. With a 10-year-old (Austin), 2 1/2 year-old (Cade) and 4 month old (Brynlee), these photo sessions just turn into madness. Just picture it....I'm behind the camera (which, by the way, works fine now) making silly noises and smiley faces at Brynlee. It is really hard to get her attention when I keep going back and forth from behind the camera waiting for that one moment when she will look at me and give me one of her wonderful smiles. Just when I think she's looking and I press the button, Cade turns his head away. (Hint to self: Never try taking pictures of Cade with one of his favorite movies currently playing). So now, not only am I trying to get Brynlee's attention, I have to make sure Cade will be looking too. Austin, on the other hand, usually doesn't give me any problem anymore. Most of the time I just have to tell him to keep looking at the camera....hoping that eventually I can get the other two to do the same. You can see that I never really accomplished my goal of getting everyone looking and smiling at one time but I guess it will have to do.

Earlier that day, Brynlee had a photo session alone with me to capture her first Valentine's Day. That one actually turned out pretty good, as you will see.

Cade too interested in that movie I was talking about!

If only I would have turned off that movie - this might have been a good one!

I gave up on the smiling...at least they were looking!

a bit foreign to me.....

So, to start this whole thing off (which, by the way, I am totally clueless about) I must give credit to my dear husband, Tim. He convinced me to start this whole blog thing because he thought it would be a great way to share info about what is going on with our lives to those who we don't see too often. I have to admit that I agree with him....yes, I said agree with him.

Well, enough said tonight. I really do hope this whole thing becomes easier for me. Anyway, to end this first-ever blog, I leave you with some pictures... one of the three angels of ours - Austin, Cade and Brynlee along with one of the whole family. Yes, the pictures are from Christmas but that's the best I can do. I haven't been able to take any more recent ones since. Blame it on the camera, not me. It would be nice if I could figure out why my camera will not charge anymore - guess its time to upgrade to a better one!!! Hint, hint, Tim.
